Summer Sport Final Round

Good luck to all our teams in their final round of Summer Sport for Term 1. The remaining 6 rounds of the season will recommence in Term 4. Thank you to all students for their efforts this season with their summer sport.

Basketball and Touch Singlet Return

With this weekend being the last game for the season, we need to have all Basketball jerseys that were loaned/hired from the Sports Department returned to us after the game. They will be collected by the coach so please ensure they have another top to change into.

If you own your Basketball jersey, please disregard this reminder. If you are unsure, please check next to your child’s name on the Team Lists, (O) indicates owned. Term 1 Team Lists

If you already know your child will not be attending their Basketball game this weekend, please organise return of the jersey to school as soon as possible. They can be dropped at Junior Reception or brought to the Sports Office, washed or unwashed.

Please note that if your Basketball jersey is not returned this Saturday, you will be charged a replacement cost to your account. We thank you for your cooperation in this process and hope your child has had an enjoyable Basketball season.

Morning Skills Sessions

Reminders as per calendar and on Redlands Pulse this is the last week of morning skills sessions for Basketball, Touch Football, Football and Goal Keeper training. Thank you to all those students who have attended these sessions over the last nine weeks. Please refer to the Winter Training Schedule for what sports are on offer commencing Term 2.

CIS Sport

A special mention to our three footballers Emme Tainton, Katie Jennings and Maya Turton from our Yr 6A Girls Football side who were nominated two weeks ago to attend the CIS Football trials based on their performance this season. Mr Gomez, who looks after our Football program, speaks highly of all three girls both as footballers but also ambassadors when they represent Redlands when they play on Saturday.

Winter Season and Compulsory Rep Sport Trials

Week 9 will see us transition into preparation for our Winter Sport Rep and Non-Rep Sport program. This commences Wednesday 24 March. All students who have elected to participate in a Rep Winter Sport (Mixed Football, Netball, Hockey, Rugby) are required to attend Sport trials on Saturday 27 March held on site at various times. This will be the only time prior to the commencement of the season that we can allocate your child to a Rep team. If your child has chosen a Non-Rep Sport, they will commence this on Wednesday 24 March. There is no Wednesday sport for rep or non rep sport on 31 March due to the Athletics Carnival.

Cross Country Training

Optional training sessions commence this week, Friday 19 March on the Junior Campus Oval at 7.00am. Access to the school will be through the oval gate (49 Murdoch St) from 6.45am. Whilst optional, students in Yrs 3-6 are encouraged to attend if they do not already have a pre-existing commitment at the same time. Coach Hunter will be running the program and will cover a variety of fitness and exercise programs in preparation for both our Winter season but also our Cross Country Carnival next term.

Athletics Carnival Program

The program for the Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 31 March is now available here. Please note the 1500m event is an open event but I would suggest only those students who can comfortably handle that distance along with their other events they may be running on the day should run in this event.

All other track events, as well as discus and turbo javelin, can be entered by students on the day.

Cross Country Carnival Preparation

A reminder that an information pack was emailed to all families last week outlining the selection criteria for our carnival in Term 2. Please familiarise yourselves with this information and how the two courses on Cross Country are split.
