Clean Up Australia Day 

Redlands will be participating in Clean Up Australia Day on 7 March. We have registered a site at Balmoral Beach from 12.00-2.00pm. We will be meeting at the Rotunda at 11.50am and providing the necessary equipment. We hope to see you there! 

Balmoral Swim for Cancer Schools Relay Challenge

Redlands will be competing in the Balmoral Swim for Cancer Schools Relay Challenge taking place on Sunday 21 March at Balmoral Beach. The Schools Relay Challenge is a community-based initiative where schools help raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Institute, increase awareness of this important cause and importantly have fun participating in an open water swim relay.

How it works:

• Students form teams of 4 – Senior (Yrs 11-12) | Intermediate (Yrs 9-10) | Junior (Yrs 8-6)
• Each swimmer swims a leg of the relay 200m
• Participants can swim in their school year category or an older category
• Entry cost is $15 for each swimmer

Salvation Army Clothing Drive

Along with Jocelyn and Yumi, we have been running a clothing drive for the past few weeks. It was a huge success and we were able to collect a huge amount of clothes that we are still sorting through. However, this would not have been able to take place if it wasn’t for the help of all of the staff and students. We would like to give a shoutout to the Facilities team for supplying the bins for us and Ms Ynson and Ms Boase for helping us all the way with organising and getting things approved because if it wasn’t for them, none of this would have happened. There were also many volunteers who helped and dedicated their time to sorting out the clothes and finally a big thank you to everyone who dropped off an item of clothing or a bag of clothing, it is much appreciated by those who are in need. Also, in the next week, the Salvation Army will be taking the clothes and they will get to go to those who are in need. It has been a pleasure to run this event with a tremendous amount of support from all of the staff and students. Daisy Thomas, Yr 9
