Musical
This year the Musical online performances will be held in Term 2. Tickets for Grease will be available for purchase shortly. Our talented students have been rehearsing in new ways, learning new skills and adapting brilliantly to create wonderful musical theatre in the recording and film studios.
Our Friends of Drama parents have offered wonderful support in creating beautifully authentic 1950s looks for the cast in their costumes for Grease. A sneak peek will be available soon. Students can check rehearsal and filming schedules on iLearn, on the Theatre and Drama notice board, and for parents on Redlands Pulse.
Gala Arts
This year Gala Arts will be held early in Term 3. Start thinking about your audition pieces. Information about the competition will be released soon.
Secondary School Theatresports
Redlands will be entering a Senior and Intermediate team in Impro Australia’s 2021 Theatresports Schools Competition. Redlands will be holding our Theatresports Competition on Wednesday 24 March in the Adams Centre. The regional TSC takes place in Term 2 with heats running from early May. Winning schools will progress to take part in the qualifying finals in June and the top teams in each division will go into a Grand Final at the Enmore Theatre at the end of June.
Shakespeare on Screen
This year the Redlands Shakespeare Festival is focussing on film acting techniques. You can submit a film of your performance and be judged by the esteemed Darren Gilshenan (The Moodys, Here Come the Habibs!, Harrow). Register your interest in the Shakespeare Festival here and then you will be invited to join the dedicated iLearn page.
Senior Acting Ensemble
Our wonderful Senior Acting Ensemble has proved so popular we have opened up two classes. Yrs 7, 8 and 9 meet in the Adams Centre and Yrs 10, 11 and 12 meet at the Drama Studio on Monday lunchtime. Students who would like to develop their acting skills and be part of an ensemble that creates new works, as well as working towards Theatre Festivals, are invited to come and join us.
