Year 11
Camp
As you would be aware, the Yr 11 Camp has been rescheduled for Week 2 of Term 1, 2021, departing Redlands on Monday 1 February for our High Country Campus at Jindabyne and returning to school on Friday 5 February. Further details surrounding activities, equipment and arrangements will be distributed to students and parents over the coming weeks. We look forward to having the entire Year Group together for this important final camp, and to participate in the celebrations that occur as part of it.
Yr 12 2021 Legacy Gift
Our Service Captains Laura Sidoti and Harrison Winton, together with Chloe Stewart, are working with our Year Group to initiate ideas and interest for the Yr 12 2021 Legacy Gift. In the tradition of Redlanders before them, our Year Group will fundraise for the Legacy Gift and this year contributions will support Dr Lennox’s wonderful legacy, the Peter Lennox Scholarship Fund as well as a gift for the students of Redlands. It is hoped that students and families will get behind this initiative to ensure that a child from a family who would otherwise be unable to attend the School can benefit from Dr Lennox’s legacy.
Peer Support Training
Yr 11 students who have been Peer Support Leaders this year will be taking part in training for our current Yr 10 students stepping into this role. There will be a brief meeting for all these students at lunchtime on Thursday 12 November and the training will take place on Monday 16 November from Period 1 until Period 3. All current Peer Support Leaders and Peer Support Captains are expected to take part and should check their email for further details.
How to Email a Teacher
This week, students completed a lesson in email etiquette, especially focusing on how to email their teachers. This information is also relevant for students as they begin to apply for jobs and for any upcoming university and college applications.
Wellbeing Tip
As students begin their Yr 12 studies, it is important to remember that they should be taking time each day for some self-care. Getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet, regular exercise, positive self-talk and engaging in hobbies they enjoy are all things that are important for a successful final year of high school.
