Year 7

Examination Block

Yr 7 will be doing their Yearly Examinations during Week 3 (Yr 7 Yearly Exam Timetable 2020). Aside from revision and examination preparation during our Pastoral Program this week, students have been given the following messages:

• Monday there are NO exams, so normal timetabled lessons will occur
• All examinations will occur in Redlands Hall (COVID ‘best practice’ will be in place ie. spacing between desks, hand sanitiser etc)
• The examination timetable has ‘Study’ in the middle half of the day – students will work quietly in Redlands Hall revising, hence having an organised set of summary notes will be essential to make the most of this session
• Normal recess, lunch and Tutor Time will still occur
• Students are to bring into the examination hall, a clear pencil case or clear plastic sleeve with all materials required for completing an examination (pens, pencils, eraser, highlighter, maths equipment etc), and revision materials.

Sport During Examinations

All Yr 7 students are expected to attend their sport trainings throughout the examination week. Managing their personal wellbeing is important during this period, which includes making time for physical exercise and other activities that allow time away from exams and study.

Technology News

Students completed their third practical Technology project. They sourced their own inspirations and undertook research to create a 3D mood light. The project consisted of three practical aspects:

• the creation of a character for laser cutting using Adobe Illustrator
• a 3D printed box designed and created using TinkerCAD
• a soldered circuit board with three LED lights.

Yr 7 are to be commended on some extraordinary designs and efforts with these tasks.
