Year 9
A Year in Reflection
This year has unfolded with a tapestry of amazing experiences for our Yr 9 cohort. From the enlightening immersion in Arnhem Land to the collaborative and inspirational Yr 9 Experience Project Week, our students have navigated challenges and celebrated numerous successes. It’s been a journey where the rewards far outweighed the obstacles.
We understand that Yr 9 is a time of grappling with various demands—heightened academic expectations, shifts in friendship dynamics, and the quest for autonomy and identity as budding young adults. It’s a privilege for Mr Millham and me to guide this cohort through their academic and personal journeys. As we approach the year’s end, I want Year 9 to recognise that their stories are just beginning, and exciting opportunities await as they transition to Year 10.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the dedicated members of our Year 9 Pastoral team. They serve as key mentors, working tirelessly to support, set high expectations, and encourage our students to be the best versions of themselves. The Pastoral team has instilled in our cohort the courage and motivation to engage with the world around them. Together, we acknowledge and applaud Yr 9’s hard work, celebrating their achievements, whether large or small, and taking pride in the progress they’ve made. It’s been wonderful to witness each individual step up and embrace opportunities this year.
To all Yr 9 families, I wish you a joyous and restful break, whether in Sydney or abroad. May it be a time of rejuvenation, connection, and happiness. We eagerly anticipate welcoming you back in 2024 as our students embark on their Year 10 studies.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and the very best for the new year.
