Yr 9 Arnhem Camp – Important information

Service Learning Project – Vinnies Drive
The aim for the Yr 9 Service Learning Module will be for students to actively engage with researching and participating in a Service Learning Program supporting a chosen charity. In follow up, students will be involved in an internal presentation and ‘Learning Walk’ with invited School Executive and members of the charity groups which were involved in the Service Learning Projects.
Key areas of focus:
- Environmental Conservation
- Homelessness and those at risk of homelessness
- The Elderly
- Children and young people
- Families in need.
This student-led process should allow Yr 9 to gain an understanding of the significance of the positive contribution they can make in the community.
As part of this project, we are asking students across the School to bring in personal hygiene items to create personal hygiene bags for those in need, however in addition, thought we would also reach out to the parent community to see if we could also ask for further donations.
The items we are looking for:
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Band aids
- Hand sanitiser
- Deodorant
- Soap or body wash
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Small tissue packs
- Hairbrush/hair ties
- Sanitary items – pads, tampons and panty liners.
A collection box will be located in the Secondary School Office every day during Week 8 & 9 this term where you are able to drop off your supplies.
