Year 8

Student Representative Council

We sincerely thank all students who expressed interest in becoming a Yr 8 SRC Representative. Voting this year again was extremely close, which is a glowing reflection of the respect students have for each other in Yr 8. We strongly encourage those who expressed interest in the SRC to continue applying for leadership opportunities and look forward to having them nominate for the SRC in Yr 9. It is our pleasure to announce the SRC Representatives for 2019:

Cowper

Dumolo

McDouall

Roseby

Sabrina Blasco

Koko Sawa

Alyssa Tinetti

Our warm congratulations to our 2019 SRC team and our best wishes for their success as they prepare to take up the responsibilities of the SRC. Mr Corcoran, Head of Secondary School, will present students with their SRC badge in a future Year Assembly.

Thank You Yr 8 CRU

Thank you to Yr 8 CRU members who assisted with preparing and serving pancakes in celebration of Shrove Tuesday. We have a large contingent of Yr 8 students involved with CRU. CRU meet each Wednesday during Lunch.

Uniform Blitz!

Yr 8 started the year strongly with their uniform looking stylish. In the past two weeks, standards have started to slip. Next week, Yr 8 will have a uniform blitz. For initial uniform infringements, clear warnings will be issued and recorded. Second infringements attract a lunch detention. A third infringement will result in a one hour Friday detention. Students will start afresh each Semester. Tutors will be checking the following:

Sibling and Cocurricular Photographs

Sibling photos will be held on the Senior Campus on 13 March 7.30 – 8.30am in Redlands Hall. Sibling photographs must be ordered online prior to the day of photography by visiting www.advancedlife.com.au and using the online order code: NWL 4NR ETY.

Cocurricular photos for Music, Dance, Drama and Theatre and Debating will be held on 13 and 20 March at the Top Garden. Please check with the Cocurricular Activity Coordinator for the photography schedule. Students are reminded school blazers are required for photos.

Student Planners

Some students are naturally organised; for others, organisation is a learnt skill. Each cycle, Tutors are viewing Student Planners to ensure they are being used correctly as a tool to aid time management. We ask that parents also assist students in the use of this important resource by viewing and signing Student Planners each week. Students should be recording 1) the date Home Learning is assigned; and, 2) the date Home Learning is due.
