Year 7

Yrs 7-10 Teachers: Cell Phone Usage

As students are currently able to carry their bags with them throughout the day, we are noticing an increase in inappropriate usage of mobile phones in Yrs 7-10. Key reminders:

• Students are to keep phones turned off and either locked in their locker or placed in their bags between 8.20am and 3.20pm.  
• Phones will be confiscated when they are out and in use throughout the day and returned to them by their Year Advisor at 3.20pm. Please note, Year Advisors will be tracking repeat offenders and escalating consequences.  
• If students do need to use their phones to contact parents throughout the day for specific situations, they should be discussing this with the closest teacher on duty for permission to use their phone at that time, or coming to the Secondary School Reception.  

ICAS

Students who have been registered for the ICAS Science Assessment would have received an email last week from Mrs Bryant. The assessment will be held at 8.00am on Monday 17 August. Yrs 7 and 8 will be in LH 3.3 – LH3.4 and Yrs 9 and 10 in LH 3.5. Please try to be 15 minutes early. Students are reminded to bring their laptops with them and to check the technical requirements prior to the day. Note that the Science assessment doesn’t require a secure lock-down browser.
