Year 7
Welcome Back
A warm welcome back to all students and parents, albeit through Remote Learning. Even though we don’t have students back on campus at the moment it is important for all of us to maintain those connections formed throughout semester 2.
Remote Learning
I would like to start by thanking the vast majority of Yr 7 students who have demonstrated the maturity and willingness to just get on with their learning without disruption or poor behaviour, well done. It is important for our students to understand that whilst this is not the preferred way to learn, it does still provide the excellent opportunity for learning to occur and needs to be taken seriously.
There has been a lot of information given out to students and parents over the last few days, but I think the key message is that students need to treat every day as if they were going into a normal day of school. By this I mean;
- waking up at an appropriate time
- having a nutritious breakfast
- getting dressed into their uniform (sports/PE) for the day
- leaving their phones somewhere they can access during lesson time
- arriving on time to their first lesson
- taking a break at the allotted times
- eating lunch, also hydrating
- some form of physical activity everyday: 30 – 60min
- at the end of the day – take the time to check the next day’s timetable
- get to bed at a reasonable time
