Cyber Security Challenge

CyberTaipan is an Australian cybersecurity competition. This competition puts students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing a small company’s network. This year, two teams from Redlands interested in cyber, defence and code-breaking participated in this competition for the first time. Over six hours, students were tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the virtual images that represent operating systems, receiving points for hardening the system while maintaining critical services. Theo Mirrlees Black, Tylor Wessels and Lachlan Forsyth Smith represented Redlands on the Yr 11 team. They are warmly commended for their participation and engagement in this event.

Jeans for Genes Day

Last Friday, Redlands students supported Jeans for Genes Day by wearing their favourite demin and giving a gold coin donation in support of this charitable day. Students in Ms Abe’s Tutor Group created a video and garnered support across the student body, with $1300 raised. 11MG are to be commended for their wonderful efforts in supporting this very worthwhile initiative. Piper Allen of 11CB was recognised for best dressed in Cowper House. Well done Piper.
