Year 11

Roseby White Class Tutor 

I would like to introduce Ms Martina Blasco as our Yr 11 Roseby White Tutor who commenced with us this week, replacing Mr Cowan. As a Mathematics teacher, Ms Blasco has previously worked at Redlands before relocating to overseas a few years ago. We are very glad to have her back joining our Yr 11 Pastoral Care team. With her extensive teaching experience both in public and private schools, I am confident she will lead and support the class with care and wisdom. Please join me in welcoming her on board. Community Service 

Since the beginning of this term, many Yr 11 students have volunteered their time and efforts in assisting various events around Campus. Last Friday night, Lili Price and Kaitlyn Jay gave up a relaxing evening at home, instead offering their help with the ISDA Debating competition hosted by Redlands. At the Junior Campus Open Morning recently, Isabel Binnekamp and Kieran Patel shared their personal experiences and practical advice on how to have a successful transition to Secondary School. I would like to thank these students for their positive contributions to our community. In addition, good luck to the 76 students who have signed up for the Red Shield Appeal this upcoming Sunday morning. A sausage sizzle will be available for each participant as a small token of appreciation for their efforts. I’m sure that everyone will have an enjoyable charity experience.   

Pastoral Care

In the past two weeks, we have introduced the topic of Leadership. During the Year Meeting last week, Yr 12 Prefects Michael Moore and Lily Wickham talked about their personal experiences related to the leadership process including application format, interview preparation, time management, expectations and social fallout. During Tutor Time this week, led by their respective Tutors, students discussed their understanding of effective leadership from either personal experiences or public life and reflected on their leadership abilities. We encourage students to start thinking about if they would like to be involved in the leadership process this year and plan ahead.
