Year 11
Red Shield Appeal
Well done to all those Yr 11 students who participated in the annual Red Shield Appeal door knock on Sunday. We had over 90 students walking around the local area collecting donations for The Salvation Army. Students collected $6,232.30 which is a record at Redlands. Ms Wilson and I are so impressed with how they conducted themselves and we thank all of them for their hard work on the day.
Gala Arts
Good luck to all those students performing in Gala Arts. It is shaping up to be a fantastic evening and it is not to be missed. Tickets are selling fast so if you haven’t already purchased your tickets, you will need to get in quickly.
Student Achievements
Congratulations to Katherine Stanbridge and Scarlet Thomas who were both selected for the CIS Girls Football team.
Mock Trial
The Yr 11 Mock Trial team had another convincing win last week against Wenona. Redlands were acting as Defence in a civil case of alleged negligence on behalf of Westfield Pitt Street Mall. A woman slipped over on a coffee spillage at the entrance to the mall and it was alleged that the defence witnesses (Leilani Heath – the Manager of the Centre and Madeleine Howard – the Cleaner) did not clear up the spillage when they were informed of it. Redlands barristers (Aleisha Lawrence and Renata Ferreira) provided an excellent argument and convincing cross examination of the alleged victim and a witness to the spillage. They were admirably supported by their solicitor (Emily Colvin) and Magistrates Clerk (Steph Larcos). In two weeks, the team have their fourth trial, this time against Marist College.
Cross Country
Well done to those students who competed at the ISA Cross Country. We had some fantastic results in Yr 11.
