Year 11

Holidays

As the year draws to a close, we would like to wish you and your family a joyful and restful Christmas holiday. These holidays provide a wonderful opportunity to spend time with loved ones, reflect on the year gone by, and recharge for the exciting year ahead.

For your child, these holidays mark an important milestone as they transition into their final three terms of school. It’s a time to celebrate their achievements so far while also preparing for the challenges and opportunities that Year 12 will bring. With this in mind, we encourage students to use this break as a time to strike a balance between rest, personal wellbeing, and purposeful academic preparation.

Here are some key suggestions to share with your child to help them start the new year feeling confident, prepared, and ready to embrace the final leg of their school journey:

Review and Revise:
Allocate some time each week to revisit key content from the Preliminary Course. Organising notes, revising syllabus dot points, and practicing past paper questions are excellent ways to consolidate knowledge and build confidence for the upcoming year.

Set Realistic Goals:
Encourage your child to reflect on their strengths and areas for improvement, setting clear and achievable academic and personal goals for the year ahead. Goal-setting can provide focus and motivation as they approach their studies.

Maintain a Healthy Routine:
Balance is key during the holidays. Encourage your child to schedule regular breaks, enjoy outdoor activities, and prioritise sleep. A well-rested mind is crucial for effective study and overall wellbeing.

Engage with Family and Friends:
Spending quality time with loved ones and engaging in activities they enjoy can help students recharge emotionally and build resilience for the year ahead.

As parents, your support and encouragement play a pivotal role in helping your child navigate this important stage of their education. We encourage open conversations about their progress and goals and are always here to provide guidance or answer any questions you may have.

May this Christmas break bring peace, joy, and the warmth of family to your home. We look forward to an exciting year ahead as we embark on the final year of their schooling journey.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
