Year 11 lend a helping hand to our Juniors at Japanese Club
Yr 11 students, Daniel Close, Hadley Wintle, Sahara Ali, Marli Prado, Julia Murphy and Momo Elsworth have been very enthusiastic and are working hard to help junior students with their Japanese language learning. According to Sensei Abe, Sensi Okawa and Sensei Jiang, Yr 11 are having such a positive impact on the junior students’ learning. This is a perfect example of Peer Leadership. Well done to Daniel, Hadley, Sahara, Marli, Julia and Momo!
Culture College NSW Cultural Immersion Exeperience – Year 10 and 11
19 – 25 April
We are delighted to offer NSW-based cultural immersion program with our partners at Culture College. This replaces the planned Homeland trip to Northern Territory, and means we are able to offer this experience to more students in Years 10 and 11.
Based on Dharug Country near Wiseman’s Ferry, and with the support and involvement of Dharug and Yuin elders and community members, this alternate program will offer similar authentic learning experiences planned for Arnhem Land yet on local country with a local context.
These include visiting important Indigenous sites, learning about kinship, connecting to country, dreaming stories, men’s and women’s business and other cultural activities.
The program represents a unique opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in local Aboriginal culture that few people in NSW will experience. It offers not only benefit to our students and community, but is a continuing source of employment for Indigenous people in uncertain times.
The dates for this program are from Tuesday 19 April to Monday 25 April inclusive. The total cost of the program is $2,965.
If you wish to take advantage of this unique opportunity, please contact Rachael Riley, rriley@redlands.nsw.edu.au, for a Booking Form and further details.
