Year 11
Yr 12 Leadership
The Student Leadership process will officially begin on Wednesday at our Year Assembly with a formal introduction and overview presented by Mr Sean Corcoran.
All students are encouraged to apply, but we would like to ask them to think carefully about their reasons for wanting to apply, to consider whether the students of Redlands know them well enough to vote for them, and to be prepared for very possible disappointment. It is also important for Yr 11s to realise that they all have the capacity to be leaders of the school in Yr 12 regardless of whether they hold a position. All self-nominations will be closed on Friday 29 June (Week 9, Term 2).
Student Achievements
Well done to all the Yr 11 students who participated in the ISA Cross Country Carnival with a special congratulations to Alec Price, Cameron Pascoe, Ben Kittle, Alex Ainsworth-Grace, Dominic Swift, Thomas Latchford and Trae Hare-Boyd, whose team won the first place in the Senior Boys Team Overall point score. This is the first time we have achieved such a remarkable result in Redlands 134 year history.
HSC Assessment
A reminder about the procedure to be followed if students are sick, or unable to attend a scheduled assessment task. It is essential that both the class teacher and the Dean of Studies, Mr David Randall, are informed as soon as possible. In the interests of fairness, the NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA) require us to apply a clear assessment policy. This can be found in the Yr 11 Assessment Booklet, located on the Yr 11 page of Redlands Pulse. It is also on the Pastoral iLearn page for Yr 11.
Basically, any extension or alternative date can only be approved by the Dean of Studies. Application forms for illness and misadventure, and for permission to be absent on the date of a task can be found at the Secondary School Office. Any application must be made directly to the Dean of Studies and be accompanied by the relevant documentation, a doctor’s certificate in the case of illness.
Failure to submit an assessment, or to attend one on the due date will result in the award of zero for that task unless the correct procedure has been followed as outlined above.
