Shrek The Musical

“All the things that make us special are the things that make us strong…”

Last week, the cast, crew and production team put on a phenomenal performance three days in a row at The Concourse, Chatswood. The students worked tirelessly throughout this short term to make a professional musical that showcased their incredible talent. The dynamic characters came to life through acting, make-up, costume and stage presence, in a musical with many important themes for all stages in life. The last live musical performance for this Year Group was in Yr 7. It was an honour to hear the maturity in each voice, the beauty and accompaniment of the pit orchestra and to fully engage in each scene as it unfolded on stage.

Subject Selection Process

Students will receive an overview of the Subject Selection Process the first week in Term 2. This process includes a Q & A senior voice panel, early entry information, Sydney University Admissions Centre Presentation, Yr 10 Into 11 Subject Information Evening, Subject Selection Interviews and submitting subject choices. This is an important process for students to consider their own interests, course preferences and possible future aspirations. We ask students to remain open-minded, to ask many questions and to take in all information prior to making a decision. Parents will be included in many aspects of this process. However, this process is focused on the student and it is a fantastic opportunity for students to fully engage, own the process and their own decisions, while feeling agency in this important point in their secondary school education.

Congratulations Rowers

The Rowing season includes an intense training schedule, high expectations and a lot of good fun. Many students choose to be a rower to be part of the incredible team and to commit to a schedule that supports them not only in their Rowing but in their academic and social life as well.  Many students this week were celebrating the change in their morning alarms from 5am to 6am and enjoying the additional sleep-in while missing their friends and mornings on the water as the season comes to an end.  Well done to all rowers for a strong season.

A special congratulations to Zara Naismith, Emma Sullivan, Mikaela Sanger-Larsson and Fletcher Logan for competing in the Australian Rowing Championships in Victoria this week.
