IPSHA Sport

Matches resume this week in the IPSHA competition and we are in Round 6 on the schedule. There are a few minor changes from the draw with Football (Soccer) and those changes have been communicated by email to those affected. Yr 5 matches are now: A at 8am, B at 8.45am and C at 9.30am, which is reverse of our regular order. All those matches are at Sydney Grammar School St Ives (Top Field).

Yr 4 matches were both advertised on the schedule as being at 10.48am – it’s a typo and both games are actually at 10.45 at UNSW, David Phillips Field, Banks Avenue Daceyville.

CIS Cross Country

Our 15 Cross Country runners compete at Eastern Creek in the NSWCIS Championships today. Pictures and results from the event will be posted next week.

Big Freeze at the G

Daniel Bailey from Yr 3 had the opportunity of a lifetime last weekend. He was the Mascot at the Melbourne Demons AFL match In front of 83,000 at the MCG. It was a big event as it was a main fundraiser for MND which Neale Daniher suffers from. He gave an amazing speech and all 18 AFL coaches went down a slide into an ice bath to raise funds. Daniel and a band of Demons supporters marched to the ground with Beanies and Flags and then got to lead the Melbourne team onto the ground with the team which was fantastic. 

Pink Sock Round at Macquarie University 23 June

On Saturday 23 June Redlands will be hosting a pink sock round in support of the Breast Cancer Network Australia. This year represents the BCNA 20^th anniversary and we are hoping to raise as much as possible for the network. This year we encourage all students across the school to purchase pink socks from the Uniform Shop for $15.00 in support of this charity.

All parents and coaches are also encouraged to wear a Pink item on the day. The Uniform Shop also has pink Redlands hats and tshirts for purchase for $15.00 and $20.00 respectively. All profits from purchases will go towards BCNA.

On this day we have arranged for a large number of our Winter sports teams to play at our home venue, Macquarie University. Throughout the day, there will be a Bake sale and a BBQ running with all proceeds going towards the charity.
