All fixtures are as per the original draw this week.

Football

Some brilliant Football from our Yr 4 teams last week in some tight matches against Barker at a very picturesque Macquarie University, on a much improved day weatherwise. Despite going down 3-1, the Blue team had the better of the play and had difficulty shutting down Barker’s striker. Our own teamwork was beautiful to watch and our goal was worked wonderfully between Chris Stevens, Oscar Carlyon and George Frith, who finished off clinically. Our team were unlucky not to score more. The Yr 4 Red team played a spirited, end to end game full of chances and great excitement. Again our girls shone and after camp it was great to see so many students there and raring to go.

Our Yr 3 Reds spread the goal scoring around at Newington with everyone getting on the scoreboard in a decisive victory. And the Yr 3 Blue team playing great football and going down narrowly to Grammar St Ives.

Rugby

The Rugby XV faced a tough and considerably larger opponent when they took on Trinity last week and were right in the thick of it. Rory McMillan and Toby Luce showed their skills off early, Rory with some scythe like running and Toby fearless in tackling the big boys and taking them on up front. Down by a try against the run of play at half time, the Redlands boys looked to be the more enthusiastic all around the park. Hugo Scott broke away for a great solo try early in the second half and the boys tried desperately to get on top – perhaps a little too hard at times and some small mistakes at critical times put paid to the comeback. Down 3 tries to 1, the talk of the XV is about the vast improvement in such a short timeframe.

Our Junior Sevens teams continue to look the part, splitting their matches last weekend with a win and a loss. After a tough loss to St Aloysius in the first match, the boys bounced back well taking the second match against Mosman Prep. Leonardo Migliucci looked fantastic with the ball in hand and Finn Morton and Digby Scott are equally as threatening in attack.

Hockey

Redlands created a heap of chances and were unlucky to finish with a 1-all draw against MLC last weekend. Wave after wave of Redlands attack was repelled by a staunch MLC backline in what was dominant display by the Redlands team. Iona Gait continues to impress and Emily Collins and Heidi de Saxe showed experience beyond their years.

Netball

Redlands 12 and 14 showed that their hard work has paid off taking their first wins of the season in decisive fashion. Redlands 12s 18-2 victory is a stepping stone to greater things and the talent on their team is beginning to gel. Redlands 14 9-1 win was a great way to break the ice. I look forward to reporting on more great games from these two exciting teams.

CIS AFL Boys

The CIS AFL boys kicked off their tournament in Batemans Bay with a win over perennial contenders McKillop 18-10 on day 1 of the tournament, which continues thought this week.
