Football House Gala Day

Under beautiful conditions we were able to hold our Interhouse Football competition with over 200 students registering for this optional event. It was great to see so many students sign up and play on the day including those who are not normally involved in our Saturday Representative Sport Program. With Dumolo having won the inaugural cup last year there was a last-minute rush of late sign ups across the other houses to bolster numbers across the grades.

Having to maintain the NSW Health order with only 1 grade at a time on site Year 3 kicked up the day with some great Football across all houses. At the end of their allocated time session placings for Year 3 were as follows;

1st Place Dumolo
2nd Place McDouall
Equal 3rd Place Roseby and Cowper

Year 4 were next and the competition stepped up a notch with some great shots at goal and equally as impressive saves from our goalies. At the end of their allocated time session placings for Year 4 were as follows;

1st Place McDouall
2nd Place Copwer
3rd Place Dumolo
4th Place Roseby

Year 5 were next still playing their games on the modified fields and at the end of their allocated time session placings for Year 5 were as follows;

1st Place McDouall
2nd Place Dumolo
3rd Place Roseby
4th Place Cowper

For the Year 6 games the playing fields were formatted into our large field configuration as well as having a final for the top 2 teams which would be based on the accumulation of points from the Year 3, 4 and 5 results. Before going into the finals McDouall was ahead of Dumolo by 18 points. However, in the final 2 late goals by Byron Mills and Rafael Rolon from Dumolo secured the trophy wining the Grand final by only 2 points. George Andrews accepted the trophy on behalf of Dumolo House and will retain the trophy for the second year running.

1st Place Dumolo
2nd Place McDouall
3rd Place Cowper
4th Place Roseby

Congratulations to all students who participated on the day, I hope you enjoyed yourself and look forward to another House competition this week with our Redlands Ninja Obstacle Course.
