Junior School Sport
With the extended lockdown and more Term 3 sporting events in our IPSHA, HICES and CIS Calendar being cancelled or postponed, there is light at the end of the tunnel for sport. Last week via a Zoom meeting, the return of sport was discussed between all the Junior School Heads of Sport from over 40 schools. The discussion focused on the what a return to sport will look like and how can we make up for the lost opportunities that a ‘normal’ Term 3 would have provided us.
As we watch the Olympic Games on our televisions, there is discussion at the moment that focuses on how can the Olympic Committee evolve the Olympic Games with the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane. Having being involved in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games I am excited that our Junior School students will have the opportunity to experience a ‘real Olympics’ if they attend as a spectator, or even as a competitor.
