Book Week

A Message from Mrs Roberts

This week the magic of reading has been brought to life throughout our Prep School with a variety of engaging activities. Tuesday’s Magic Hat Day was a huge success, with students and teachers embracing the theme and sharing their own unique “magic” throughout the day.

Year 1 students took centre stage at our Prep assembly, showcasing the Book Week theme, Reading is Magic, through their creative outfits and presentations. The assembly featured a special appearance by Gandolph (Mr Corcoran), who delighted the audience with a poem celebrating the joys of reading. Additionally, classes 1B and 1Y captivated us with their poetry recitations, and everyone joined in a lively rendition of I Like Books led by Ms McInnes.

Our Mystery Readers have been making surprise visits to classrooms, while lunchtime activities have been designed to inspire and excite our young readers. Be sure to check the Prep School foyer screen for highlights of the week’s events, including cheerful faces, magical hats, wands, and the various Book Week activities.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs Roberts and Dr Hui for their efforts in making Book Week such an enjoyable and magical experience for everyone involved.

Let’s Celebrate our International Prep School

If you’ve recently walked through our Prep Reception, you might have noticed our vibrant world map, which highlights the diverse origins and residences of many of our Prep students. This map beautifully showcases the rich diversity within our Redlands Prep community and serves as a reminder of the importance of appreciating, respecting, and learning from one another.

It’s been exciting to see how the map has sparked lively conversations about countries, cultures, flags, and oceans. I’ve particularly enjoyed hearing about the meaningful discussions families are having with other families as they explore the map together, fostering genuine connections.

I encourage you to stop by and experience this engaging display for yourself.
