Prep Presentation Day
Once again, we will be using the free online Trybooking system to allocate seating for the Preparatory Presentation Day. To ensure equity, the number of seats will be limited to two per family. There may be opportunity to request extra tickets closer to the event but we respectfully request that each family does not book more than two tickets on Trybooking. Any remaining seats that are available when Trybooking has closed will be distributed on a first come, first in basis.
The Trybooking system for Prep Presentation day will be accessible from 9.00am Tuesday 12 November, the site is locked until this time and will close on Sunday 24 November at 9.00pm. No bookings can be made after this time.

Bush Dance
It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon for the bi-annual K-6 Bush Dance held last Saturday afternoon with an extraordinary 500 people dancing, socialising and having fun. The event was truly authentic with hay bales filling Dunnet Hall and a brilliant bush band. Our Redlands community spirit was clearly evident, and thanks must go to Preparatory School parent, Danielle Bird, who led and organised this event with a team of dedicated parents. We sincerely appreciated the parents who helped with the set-up and clean-up, decorations, slushie machine and cooking the sausages. Thank you for giving the children another wonderful experience to remember.
Mr Webber Meets Prep School
Last week, there were some very excited Prep students who were introduced to 2020 Principal, Mr Stephen Webber. Mr Webber visited Redlands House and Prep classes on Wednesday, joining in with music lessons, art activities and playground games. The students in Kindy Orange asked Mr Webber some interesting questions which he answered with patience and good grace.
“Where did you come from?”
“Will the rules change at Redlands when you come?”
“What’s your job now?”
Mr Webber’s week-long visit to Redlands culminated in a weekend Executive and Board Retreat where we heard from futuristic speakers, Mark McCrindle and Michael McQueen. Their insights into the rapidly changing world was captivating and left all the educators in the room filled with possibility and wonder for the years ahead.
Yr 1 Celebrations
This term the Yr 1 students are learning about different celebrations from around the world as part of their Units of Inquiry. We were delighted to invite families into the classroom to discuss a celebration that they have within their family and explain the cultural significance. This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to hear about different traditions and to the celebrate the diversity within our community. We have been lucky enough to have Diwali, Chinese New Year, Thanksgiving, Holi, Halloween, Greek Easter, Hanukkah and Greek naming day. When the students hear from members of our school community, they feel a sense of connection and warmth that is not possible through books or the internet. Thank you to all the parents who have so willingly participated.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Sophia Moriarty (Two Crimson), who placed second in her first eisteddfod at Castle Hill in the U8yo Jazz Specially Restricted last Sunday. Sophia overcame some nerves and danced as a soloist for the first time, performing beautifully and was announced best of all 12 performers. Sophia’s dedication to her dancing is to be commended, starting dance lessons in Kindergarten at Redlands. A sincere thank you to Ms Shannon, Sophia’s Dance teacher at Redlands who prepared Sophia for this competition. If you would like more information on Dance at Redlands, please visit Redlands Pulse.
