Father’s Day Coffee Morning – Tuesday 6 September (RSVP Requested)

We are really looking forward to welcoming dads next Tuesday morning between 7.45am and 8.30am for a Father’s Day coffee and a catch up before school in the Piazza. To assist with our catering numbers, please confirm your attendance by RSVP’ing HERE.

Last Friday, there was unbridled joy as we welcomed grandparents and special friends for the first time in three years for this very special day in our calendar. It was wonderful to see the connections between our guests and the students and after some time together in the classrooms, our guests were treated to the medley finale from the recent Junior Music Festival.

NSW State Interschools Snowsports Championships

Congratulations to all of our Junior School students involved in last week’s NSW State Interschools Snowsports Championships. We recognise the commitment from the students and families to support them and the School and Mr Dunne has further details in his Junior Sport section of Note Day.

Of note, we congratulate Yr 5 student, Aidan Schlederer, who has qualified individually to complete in Snowboard GS and Snowboard Cross at the National Snowsports Championships later this month.

Redlands Spring Fair Postponed

After close consultation with our partners and suppliers, and with the safety and wellbeing of our community as our highest priority, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2022 Spring Fair due to the inclement weather forecast for Saturday.

I am grateful to the army of parent volunteers who have been part of the massive preparation ahead of the event and the hundreds who have volunteered their time to support a stall or activity on the day; it truly makes a difference. We are genuinely disappointed that we are unable to host this much loved event but are currently liaising with our partners and suppliers and will have an update for you next week.

Spring Fair Colouring Competition

Well done to the tens of students who entered in the Spring Fair Colouring Competition. After careful deliberation, the following winners were selected and these students were announced at recess this morning.

Yr 3 Camp

Next Wednesday, our intrepid Yr 3 students set off for their first Junior School Camp to Vision Valley, a short drive north from Redlands. I am looking forward to spending Thursday with the group and acknowledge the preparation of teachers and our pastoral team in helping the students get ready for this Outdoor Education experience.

Car Line Reminders

Name Labels

Please can I remind all parents who use the car line to ensure that your child’s name is clearly visible on your dashboard for teachers on duty to read and move the line quickly. If you need a new one, please contact the Junior School Office.

Arrival at 3.20pm

Again, I ask parents who use the moving car line pick up option on Allister Street to arrive as close to 3.20pm as possible or shortly afterwards. Our staggered pick-up times from K-6 are designed to allow for the smoothest flow of traffic. However, the safety of students is being compromised as some Junior School families are arriving anytime from 2.45pm and then causing both traffic and a safety risk to Prep parents arriving at their designated times.

Mosman Youth Awards in Literature 2022

As previously shared, Zara Siva (Yr 6) was shortlisted in the Mosman Youth Awards in Literature for 2022. Yesterday, supported by her family and her class teacher and Yr 6 Coordinator, Mrs Robinson, Zara attended the awards ceremony where her piece was read out and Zara was awarded a $50 voucher by the Mayor of Mosman, Cr Carolyn Corrigan.

Lunch Orders

We have had increasing numbers of students arrive at school without lunch in recent weeks. Some assume they had lunch orders when they do not and some have forgotten to bring lunch in. Of course, the Canteen will always aim to provide them with some food but your assistance with this matter is appreciated.

Code Camp – Holiday Camp 27 – 29 September (Yrs 2-6)

We are delighted to partner again with Code Camp to host an exclusive holiday program for Redlands students in Yrs 2-6 to design, code, problem solve and become storytellers and creators of technology, by creating games, websites, music and videos or flying drones! The program will take place in the first week of the September holiday break and booking information including an early bird rate are on the flyer below.
