Walk to School Day
Thank you to the parents and students who participated in Walk to School Day, which aims to encourage every child to lead a healthier, more active lifestyle by including exercise in their daily routine. There were certainly plenty of smiles as the students came to school and collected their sticker. Congratulations to James Priestly who walked all the way from Manly to Cremorne!
Can-Do Jar
In this week’s Assembly I challenged the Prep School to see if they could fill our can- do jar to the top with can-do messages. You can see from the picture students have been excited to share their positive affirmations and, equally inspiring, beginning the day with a growth mindset and an optimistic outlook. Perhaps I could challenge some parents to add their own can-do messages!
Bike/Scooter Racks
For those Prep students who are scooting or biking to school, there are plenty of bike spaces on the Junior Campus racks. They are located on the Murdoch Street entrance to the School adjacent to the Junior School Parkes Building. Prep students are very welcome to use these.
Yr 2 Camp Information Session
On Wednesday 30 May the Prep School will be holding a Yr 2 Camp Information Session for interested families. The session will be held in the Arnold Library on the Junior Campus, beginning promptly at 3.30pm, finishing at 4.30pm. David Gregory, Head of Outdoor Education, Nicola Sharp, Yr 2 Coordinator, and Shelly Acland, Prep School Counsellor, will be in attendance and sharing pertinent information about the Yr 2 Camp Program.
Part of this discussion will centre around the School’s Outdoor Education philosophy for students of this age and our understanding of the range of student emotions, abilities and child-development rates. As such, we respectfully ask that children not be in attendance for this particular session. For any parent who has booked in their children for after hours care that is being offered for this session, those students can be collected by 4.30pm in the Two Crimson classroom. If you are unable to attend the Information Session, all information, including all questions and answers, will be uploaded onto the Yr 2 section of Redlands Pulse.
You Can Sit With Me

On Friday 1 June, Redlands Junior Campus will be joining together with their buddies at lunch time to observe You Can Sit With Me day. This initiative began to strengthen communities with children of all ages, fostering friendships across schools. You Can Sit With Me reminds everyone in our School that we welcome anyone to sit with us regardless of interests, ability and age. On the day we are encouraging all students to wear a touch of yellow. If you are interested in buying a pencil or bag tag, please visit please visit their website. All proceeds from the sale of items go to the Literacy and Numeracy Foundation.
Staff News
We are delighted to welcome back Jo Wise to the Prep Counselling team this week. Throughout this term she will be intermittently joining Shelly Acland, as they proceed with handover for Mrs Wise’s permanent return from Maternity Leave in Term 3. Further to this, Junior Campus eLearning Coordinator, Shireen Winrow, has returned from Maternity Leave for two days per week in Term 2 and three days per week in Term 3. Staff and students were very happy to welcome both staff members back to Redlands.
