Drama and Theatre

What a week it has been. Drama and Theatre classes are going swimmingly – an appropriate analogy for the weather at the moment. Thank you to all the families for their flexibility and understanding this week as we shift and adapt to the weather. I encourage you all to continue to monitor your emails for any class or rooming changes and to remind students to bring either an umbrella or raincoat as they move around campuses.

All musical families have been added to the Shrek iLearn page. All important information updates, information and requirements will be sent out via the announcements. Please keep a particular eye out over the upcoming weeks as we distribute information for Production Week.

Extra-subject Drama and Theatre

Classes are going well. If you want to enrol your child please contact drama@redlands.nsw.edu.au. Some classes are at capacity and have a waitlist.

Reminder: A friendly reminder to communicate with your child about their extra-curricular classes in the morning. We have had cases were students are in car line or their designated pick up spot and have needed to be located before class starts. Please ensure any absences are sent to drama@redlands.nsw.edu or your childs class tutor prior to the lesson.

Highlight of the Week: Redlands House

Creative Kids: Today we walked like, acted out making our own pizza from beginning to end and stood still without fidgeting for more than 2 minutes.

Highlight of the Week: Preparatory School

Kindergarten Music Theatre: Today in class we talked about the three important elements of Musical Theatre-using Dance, Singing and Acting to tell a story.

We are sensational at ‘Zip, Zap, Boing’, mastering focus and energy in a big way! We worked on rhyme and rhythm, as well as building character and story elements. We also sang, ‘When I Grow Up’ from Matilda, and ‘Land of Yesterday’ from Anastasia as an ensemble.
