Deputy Head: Students (K-2)

It has been another fantastic week in the Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 classrooms. Now that the children have settled in, they are really starting to dig deeper into their learning and their inquiry units. We also held our first K-2 assembly, which was a special opportunity for the children to come together and celebrate.

Drop-Offs

Just a little reminder that morning drop-off is between 8-8.20am. Please could we ask that parents leave when the bell rings (or before), so that the children can line up and get to their classes quickly and smoothly. Many thanks.

Sustainability

We are keen to introduce the children further to the United Nations’ 17 World Sustainability Goals. Year 1 are working on composting, and we are encouraging children to recycle waste food in our ‘Foodcycler’, which can be put back into the garden.

If your child or family have been working on living a more sustainable lifestyle (such as reducing food or water waste, or completing a beach clean-up) then please let us know by sending a short email explaining what you have been doing, along with a photograph to: kpontes@redlands.nsw.edu.au and we will display them in our Reception area.

Kindy PE!

A very warm welcome to our Kindy students! We have had a wonderful few weeks playing games and working on fundamental movement skills. Our focus has been on jumping and landing, running, hopping, skipping, throwing and catching.

We are well-resourced and have access to a wide range of gymnastics equipment, which the students have enjoyed using to develop their core strength and balance. The trampolines have certainly been a big hit!

Twilight in the Garden

Our Twilight in the Garden event provides a wonderful opportunity for our new families to connect with our school community on the Fahl Garden on our Senior Campus. We are expecting this to be another sold out event for parents and carers so please purchase your tickets early here.
