Debating

Last week Aleisha Lawrence (Yr 11) was selected to be in the NSW State Debating Squad for 2019. Congratulations Ali! The national competition will be in Darwin from 19-25 May and the 13 chosen squad members will be trained for the next few weeks before selecting a final team of ~6 to compete.

ISDA Competition: Congratulations to Yr 9, Yr 8, Yr 7, Primary A and Primary B who all had wins against Kinkoppal Rose Bay last week. This week we debate Pymble Ladies College. Please see an email from me for more details.

FED Competition: Congratulations to the 7A, 7B, 8A and Senior A teams who all won their debates against St Aloysius last week. This week we have a home debate against Knox.

Please remember to email me first thing in the morning if you are away sick on Fridays and if possible, email your team members too.

Parents are encouraged to come in and watch debates to support our debaters old and new. More about both these competitions and about Debating in general is in the Debating section of Redlands Pulse.

Redlands Musical Strictly Ballroom: Students who are not involved in the musical are requested to save this date regardless of which competition they compete in. ISDA teams have a home debate and FED students may be asked to replace ISDA students who are not involved with the musical.

Debating Club

It is not too late to join Debating Club which runs on a Wednesday afternoon and is also conducted by Masters Academy. More information on how to register for this is here. Based on interest, we are looking into the possibility of running an extra day/time slot. Please register interest and preferences with Masters Academy.

Please read the Debating Expectations section under special programs on Redlands Pulse and feel free to chat with me or with Ela Kos, our Debating Captain about any queries you may have.
