Debating

Welcome back! It has been a busy start to the year for Debating. We have the ISDA and FED competitions starting this term and continue with Social Debating or Debating Club.

Competitive Debating (ISDA and FED Competitions in Semester 1)

Trials for these are after school this Friday 1 February and the teams chosen continue to compete for the whole season (Semester 1). Students can register for the trials here. Trials will be run by experts in the field.

Masters Academy

Masters Academy will be providing coaches for the competitions and will ensure that there is a coaching program and that the coaches are trained and experienced. More about these competitions and about Debating in general is in the Debating section of Redlands Pulse. Students should meet at the Liggins Quad after school on Friday for the trials.

Debating Club

This Club runs on a Wednesday afternoons and is also being conducted by Masters Academy. More information on how to register for this is here. Masters Academy is a registered Creative Kids supplier, which entitles parents to a $100 rebate for Debating Club. Please contact info@mastersacademy.com.au or call 8283 2905 for more details.

Students interested in participating in the Rostrum Voice of Youth should contact me in L.2.3.

Students are encouraged to enrol for both Competitive Debating and Debating Club but it is not compulsory to do one in order to do the other.

Please read the About Debating section under special programs on Redlands Pulse and feel free to chat with me or with Ela Kos, our Debating Captain before you decide to make the commitment.

I look forward to another productive Debating season!
