Eisteddfod Update

Huge success at SPACE this weekend!

1^st Place for the Senior Ballet Performers and 2^nd for the Junior Ballet Performers.

Well done, you all danced beautifully!

Solo Soiree

Shout out to those who performed at the Solo Soiree on 2 August. It was a very special evening with talented dancers spanning from Year 2 to 11. What a treat! We will post some fave photos next week.

SUNDAY 25 AUGUST | ISTD & RAD EXTRA CLASSES 

A reminder that we are holding extra classes this Sunday for those students taking their RAD Ballet exams in September and student taking their ISTD exams later in the year.

Sunday 15 September

A date for the diary. We are holding three big events on Sunday 15 September, as below:

Dance Awards 10am-12.30pm

This will be a fun event with performances from our Eisteddfod groups, Year 11 and 12, and our Curriculum dancers will showcase their work. There will also be a chance for audience participation, and we will farewell the Year 12s.

Pea-Nutcracker 1.30pm-2.30pm

Our Redlands House Mini Movers and Ballet dancers will be hitting the stage to perform “The Pea-nutcracker”. We will also have special guest appearances from Junior and Senior Academy students. Further details will be made available soon.

Junior RAD Variation Showcase 2.45pm-4.15pm

Our RAD Ballet Students in Year 3 to Year 6 have the opportunity to perform their variations for friends and family. We are thrilled to have Ms Jasmin Durham (former dancer with the Australian Ballet and RDA coach) in attendance to provide feedback to all students taking part.

Absent or Away from Class

 A reminder to complete the RDA Absent from Class form if your child cannot attend a class – CLICK HERE

Note that for private lessons, please contact your private lesson teacher and cc the Dance Department. 24 hours notice is required for any cancellations. Any private lesson missed with less than 24 hours notice will be charged as a received lesson. For private lessons please do not complete the RDA Absent from Class form.

Important Dates

HSC Dance Practical Examinations

Congratulations to Madeleine Lamport and Summer-Eve Smyth on their completion of their HSC Dance practical examinations yesterday! NESA examiners were at the school yesterday to mark the students for their final HSC Dance works. Thank you to their dancers Imogen Jeffery-Bilich and Sofia Vincent who performed the Year 12 students’ compositions. Wishing the Year 12 students all the very best for their final part of their HSC Dance course, their Appreciation examination in November.
