Community Update
Redlands is proud of our warm, diverse and inclusive school community. Our local community is enriched by those from interstate and overseas, with more than 50 countries represented in our student cohort. We are kown as an international school for Australian families and an Australian school for international families.
Redlands cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and is at the heart of who we are. Redlands recognises and celebrates our diversity through a wide range of activities, learning experiences and events across all campuses. Earlier this week our student leaders hosted a compelling Secondary School assembly that spotlighted diversity and inclusion. Early next week in our Junior and Prep Schools and Redlands House Preschool we recognise Harmony Day, an annual event that encourages people to share the message that ‘everyone belongs’, followed by a day celebrating International Day right across the School early next month. It is always inspiring to hear the personal stories of our students, teachers and parents interwoven within these events and activities.
We are thrilled to announce that Redlands will be hosting a Science and Innovation Luncheon at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron in Term 2. It will be lovely to gather face-to-face as a community in celebration of the long history of Science and Innovation at Redlands.
Proceeds from this event will be dedicated to the Dr Sue Morey AM Scholarship. The establishment of this new Redlands Foundation Scholarship honours and celebrates Dr Morey’s outstanding service achievements and standards of excellence within Community Health. Further information about this exciting event will be released as this Term unfolds. In the interim, please save the date in your calendar – Friday, 20 May from 11.30pm to 3.00pm. For more information on Dr Sue Morey AM and other Alumni news please visit our Foundation section.
It was a pleasure to welcome our Preparatory School parents and carers into their children’s classrooms earlier this week. Lots of excited (and very proud) students dutifully ushering their parents and carers in and out of classrooms. We were also delighted to host Yr 7 parents and carers on the Senior Campus for our annual Meet and Greet. These events remind us of the important sense of place that Redlands provides. We look forward to welcoming more of our community on campus as the Term unfolds including Jazz in the Garden this Saturday night followed by Twilight in the Garden on the evening of Friday 1 April. A reminder that tickets are on sale here for the Twilight in the Garden event.
Thank you for your continued guidance and support and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
