Community Update
We are not just a school, we are a community and we recognise the sense of place that Redlands provides. It has been lovely to welcome some of our community back on campus this week. We look forward to welcoming more of our community on campus as the Term unfolds through events such as the Yr 7 Meet and Greet on Monday 14 March and Twilight in Garden on Friday 1 April.
Our motto, ‘Let your light shine’, is a phrase taken from The Sermon on the Mount, ‘Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven’ (Matthew 5:16 NIV). At Redlands we aim to provide extensive opportunities to enable each student’s light to shine and to foster the light in those around them, and those who need support.
Redlands is a school in the Anglican tradition that seeks to give students the opportunity to understand the Christian faith in a relevant and accessible way. The Redlands Parents’ Prayer meeting provides our current parent community with the opportunity to come together to pray for the concerns of the school and of families. The group is meeting for the first time this year on Wednesday 16 March from 8pm to 9pm via Zoom. Please contact Sally Swan (Mum to Adelaide Yr 8) at swanlsally@gmail.com for further information and the Zoom link.
My thanks to those who donated uniforms, and to the Redlands Uniform Shop and the ever active and passionate Redlands Parent and Friends Association (RPFA) for their collective effort in fulfilling the recent Second Hand Uniform Sale. This initiative enables us to recycle pre-loved uniforms back into the community whilst raising valuable funds for our means-tested Scholarship Fund.
It is always a pleasure to hear what our alumni community have been up to, and this week’s postcard from Annabelle Swan (Class of 2021) who outlines her journey of service to Africa doesn’t disappoint. Annabelle’s inspiring story, along with that of another Redlander, Jon Appleton (Class of 1992) who has just released a book, can be enjoyed here.
Thank you for your continued guidance and support and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
