Music, Technology and Learning

Throughout this week, it has been exciting to see the Academic Music program (P-12) delivered through various platforms across the school. This has included interactive learning platforms including SeeSaw, Google Classroom and iLearn.

On the Senior Campus this learning has been further facilitated through ZOOM technology, which has proven to demonstrate the ability to support student learning in composing, listening and performing contexts.

This use of technology displays the explosive growth of the use of video in the classroom and this is enhancing the way many teachers can teach lessons. This platform was used to deliver engaging lessons and rehearsals to Secondary School students in both Private Music tuition (individual lessons) and the Music Ensembles program.

Videoconferencing opens up the opportunity for teachers to have truly interactive conversations and lessons with their students by connecting their classroom with other students and other teachers.

This week we have experienced first-hand the power of this learning environment and below are some snapshots of what this looks like in the classroom.
