Year 8

News
  • The NSW Head of the River was held out at Penrith International Rowing Centre (in the pouring rain) on Saturday and Sunday. We had outstanding results across the all whole Rowing program and the School is very proud of the achievements of all students. Yr 8 performed exceptionally well (with too many notable results to include in this section of Note Day)! Please refer to Sports section of Note Day for more information.
  • Well done to Ellie Trueman who has been selected as a shadow player in the ISA U16 Girls Hockey team.
  • Congratulations to all of our 20+ musical participants who have been rehearsing regularly and perform at the end of next week. We hope to see you in the audience at some stage. See the Drama and Theatre section of Note Day for ticketing information. Closing night has now sold out – get in quick to see the show on Thursday or Friday.
House Fun Day

Thursday Week 9 is our first Easter House Fun Day! There will be lots of opportunities to get involved, earn House points and come away with some eggs. Activities involve Easter egg guessing competitions, egg and spoon races, egg hunts, hat parades etc. Students must sign up for events via the House iLearn page.

Pastoral Care Term 1: Risk Taking

Students continue work on Risk Taking. Last week, students explored key risk-taking behaviours considering potential consequences, how to minimise risks and where to seek help, if needed. Key readings on alcohol and drugs, peer pressure and sexting (along with a wealth of other useful recourses) and are available via the Kids Helpline Website.

Catch up Vaccinations

Catch up vaccinations will be held this Friday 22 March during Pastoral Care time. Students and parents who are eligible for a catch-up vaccination have been contacted via email with further details.

Parent and Student Contact Details

All parents are asked to check their contact details on Redlands Pulse. Please send any changes through via the system on Redlands Pulse (rather than to the Year Advisors), so that we have the most up to date and detailed information (including medical details). It may take 48 hours for updates to appear.

Mothers’ Day Classic

Sunday 12 May

We hope many students, parents and friends enter this year and remember to enter as a Redlands competitor. Don’t forget to wear pink – it would be wonderful to see a sea of pink representing and supporting such a worthy cause. A huge turnout by Redlands usually sees us winning the school shield for the largest involvement from one school. Let’s see if we can reclaim the shield in 2019!
