Shrove Tuesday

On Tuesday, our Chaplain Ms Lihou made and served pancakes to students in Liggins Quad. Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday, when traditionally rich foods (butter, eggs etc) were consumed before the start of Lent. Grateful thanks must go to Ms Lihou and the students who assisted with this event.

International Women’s Day

This Friday 8 March is International Women’s Day. To celebrate this day, we will be having a whole School Assembly on Friday. In Chapel on Tuesday, Ms Lihou’s focus was on the contribution of the Christian Missionary Amy Carmichael to the plight of children in India. Amy Carmichael served in India for 55 years and was a truly inspirational and remarkable woman for her time.

Student Achievements

We are at the time of year when many students have excelled in their Summer Representative Sports and have made it through to the Semi Finals. We congratulate these students for their efforts throughout the season. A special mention must go to our rowers who went to Canberra for the ACT Head of the Lake last weekend and our Yr 10 Girls Quad won a gold and a bronze. Well done girls.

Public Speaking Workshop Opportunity

Lunch and Learn – Free public speaking workshops at school. The Masters Academy is running two free lunch time sessions on Public Speaking (with nibbles provided) for students in L.1.4 on Thursday 14 March. Anyone is welcome, although classroom space is limited. Please ask your son or daughter to drop in.

Sibling and Cocurricular Photographs

Sibling photos will be held on the Senior Campus on 13 March 7.30 – 8.30am in Redlands Hall. Sibling photographs must be ordered online prior to the day of photography by visiting www.advancedlife.com.au and using the online order code: NWL 4NR ETY.

Cocurricular photos for Music, Dance, Drama and Theatre and Debating will be held on 13 and 20 March at the Top Garden. Please check with the Cocurricular Activity Coordinator for the photography schedule. Students are reminded school blazers are required for photos.
