Senior Music Awards Dinner 2022

The Senior Music Awards DInner last Friday evening was a glorious night of celebration with over 230 members of our Redlands community. We honoured our Yr 12 students for their contributions, we welcomed Yr 7 into the fold, and commended all Yr 8-11 students who were nominated for their efforts in the Cocurricular programs this year.

We extend our congratulations once again to the award recipients of the evening  who were presented with trophies.

Our Friends of Music graciously hosted the event and asked us to share the following message:

“Friends Of Music would like to say a huge thank you to all who attended Friday night, with special thanks to the volunteers, the very dedicated Music Department, the indefatigable Yr 12 raffle ticket sellers, those who generously donated raffle prizes and those who bought tickets on the night.”

We are thankful for the enduring support of our Friends – notably this year, Carys Wardman-Browne, Lisa Connors and Nancie Pageau who headed the charge! If you would like to come on board and be one of our ‘Friends’ we welcome you add your expression of interest (for contributions big or small) via this link!

Redlands Spring Fair Music

While the Redlands Spring Fair has been postponed, we are thankful that we managed to perform for our peers in a very sunny Fahl garden last week (and grateful to Mr Montz for facilitating!). While awaiting a rescheduled Spring Fair date, we turn our sights to Rock in the Garden in Term 4.  Many of the planned featured solo performers may pop up in Spirit Week (Week 9)… Keep your eye out!

Senior Instrumental Competition – Monday 19 September 2022

HSC Practical Examinations

We wish our Year 12 HSC Music 1 and 2 students all the very best as they head into their external practicals across Weeks 8 & 9. You’ve worked hard, and we are confident that as you focus on making your best music on the day, the rest will fall into place.  Cheering for you!

Term 3 Composition Focus

Our Year 12 composers are in the final stages of producing their final NESA / IB composition recordings, and Years 8-10 Music elective students are bringing their composition assessments home in Week 8, with some exciting explorations happening in the realms of Australian, Romantic & 20th/21st Century music styles.

On the theme of Composition in Term 3, we thank all those who submitted songs and works for consideration for the Redlands EP 2023! The panel are delighted by the record number of submissions and are busily making the hard decisions as to whose marvellous composition will win the prize of being Studio Recorded / Produced for release in 2023!

EP 2022 drop!

We were delighted to launch the Redlands EP 2022 at the Music Awards Dinner last Friday 26 August. It was fitting to hear the pieces written by our student composers and songwriters as a celebration of the wonderful musical talent that can be found at Redlands.

Please find links below to each of the pieces launched with the EP. The links below are unlisted YouTube links, and we will be looking to further promote these pieces by uploading them to digital music services such as Spotify by the start of Term 4.
