Community Update

I trust you have managed to dry out a little as the sunshine finally breaks through here in Sydney. In another testing week for the School we give thanks for the strength of our Redlands community and how we continue to pull together to assist those in need. I know a number of families who were significantly impacted by this week’s weather events and have heard many stories of how our staff, students, parents and carers rallied to assist and support those affected by arranging pick-ups, food and shelter (and a few unscheduled sleepovers).

As things begin to dry out a little we look forward to welcoming our Yr 7 parents and carers to our Meet and Greet event on Monday 14 March. This event provides a terrific opportunity for our Yr 7 parents and carers to connect with our teaching and support staff along with other parents and carers of Yr 7 students.

A reminder that tickets are on sale for our Twilight in the Garden event on Friday 1 April.  We are expecting a big crowd in 2022 given we have been unable to host this much loved event in the last few years.

My thanks to those who donated uniforms, and to the Redlands Uniform Shop and the ever active and passionate Redlands Parent and Friends Association (RPFA) for their collective effort in fulfilling the recent Second Hand Uniform Sale. This initiative enables us to recycle pre-loved uniforms back into the community whilst raising valuable funds for our means-tested Scholarship Fund.  The sale finishes tomorrow so there is still time to top up your uniform requirements.

It is always a pleasure to hear what our well-travelled Alumni community have been up to, and this week we were delighted to visit Redlanders in NSW’s Southern Highlands and connect through Zoom with our US and Canada based alumni. Click here to read more on these illuminating connections.

A reminder that the Redlands Parents’ Prayer group is meeting for the first time this year on Wednesday 16 March from 8pm to 9pm via Zoom. Please contact Sally Swan (Mum to Adelaide Year 8) at swanlsally@gmail.com for further information and the Zoom link. The meeting provides our current parent community with the opportunity to come together to pray for the concerns of the school and of families.

Thank you for your continued guidance and support and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
