Blue skies smiling at me…

With our eye on the 14-day forecast, everything is looking positive for a sun-kissed autumn picnic on the lawn of our Fahl Garden as we launch our 2022 Performance Season and inaugurate the magnificent space as a Music Performance venue with Jazz in the Garden.

Whether your child attends Redlands in the Prep, Junior or Senior school, our annual Jazz afternoon is the perfect chance to bring your family along and connect with your Redlands community. Bring your own picnic basket and drinks, unfurl the rug and join us for a wonderful showcase of live music!

Prep School Orientation Session – Next Thursday 17 March 2022 – 8.30am

Our Prep students have lots of exciting opportunities to be involved with music at Redlands.

Did you know that students learn a string instrument in Year 2? Or that we have a Prep Choir? To find out more about the start of your child’s music journey, we would like to invite you to our Prep Music Orientation Session where Ms Katherine Moses (Head of Junior Campus Music) and Ms Amy Richardson (Director of Music) will be available to talk through the various options students have in music at Redlands.

It is also an opportunity for parents/carers to find out more about becoming involved with the Friends of Music group, who assist with various music events and jobs throughout the year. To attend the Orientation Session next Thursday bookings are essential through the Trybooking Link below.

Numbers are limited, but please join the waitlist should the allocation be exhausted.

Battle of the Bands – Monday 4 April 2022

Auditions are all complete, and in light of some accommodations for Covid absence, the grand announcement of our selected finalists will now be published in Note Day next week (with students advised via email beforehand).

We’re excited to announce our adjudicator for the competition will be internationally respected musician and educator, Travis New.

Travis has become a familiar face on the Australian touring circuit and become one of the nation’s most in-demand guitar players. You will have seen Travis perform on Sunrise, The Voice and the ARIAs as well as festivals such as Bluesfest and CMC Rocks. Being a highly versatile and dynamic guitar player has seen Travis perform with many artists across a wide variety of genres. In 2017 & 2018 Travis spent time living in Nashville TN working as a session/touring musician and has now settled back in Australia with his family.

Travis has worked with many high-profile artists including Robbie Williams, Andrew Farriss (INXS), Morgan Evans, Jack River, Jessica Mauboy, Samantha Jade, MiSex, Jasmine Rae, Adam Brand, Reece Mastin, Steve Balbi, Boney M, Jack Vidgen, Dami Im, Anthony Callea, Jaimie McDell, Travis Meadows, Mark Furze, Imogen Clark and our own ex-Redlander Ruel.
