Wet Weather Update

With the wet weather having a significant impact on our sport program specifically on the Wednesday, a reminder that parents/carers can refer to the wet weather link that gets updated in real time. This is particularly important for those parents who pick up at the venues. As you can imagine Junior School Reception is very busy on a Wednesday and so enquiries about sport may go to voicemail. Updates are shown in red font and the cut off time for cancellation is midday. On wet days parents are also asked to send any sport specific equipment in with their child and not make the decision prior to departure from home that sport is going to be cancelled. With the amount of sport that has been cancelled over the last two years contractors will always try to come up with an alternative program ahead of cancelling.

2022 Term 1 Sport Calendar

For an outline and timeline of all our sporting events in Term 1 our Junior School Sport calendar can be viewed by selecting here.

Cross Country Preparation

As per our engage notice sent out to all families the wet weather has meant we had to move our carnival from Tuesday 8 March to Friday 18 March. Students will run in either the championship run or the fun run. Both runs take place over the same course, both have ribbons for place getters.  To view your child’s event please select the following link;

2022 Class Listing- what event am I in?

You will see that I have also listed their entrant number, this needs to be written on their arm on race day so we can separate age groups in the computer as we have different age groups running against each other in the same grade. It is important that your child knows their entrant number as that is how results are generated when they cross the finish line.

Our new venue is Tunks Park Cammeray with the carnival now taking place Friday 18 March. A fly over of the course can be viewed here: 2022 Course Video. If you can manage to get down to Tunks park for a walk or run before the event that always settles nerves on race day. Parents and or carers are welcome to join us on this day but must remain off the course. You have received a detailed information package about the event last week.

2022 Summer Sport Team Lists

Please check these as there have been a few changes to teams over the last few days. Students have been told it is their responsibility to check the team lists, see if there any team changes that affect them and then cross check new times in the draw. That way it avoids students being moved teams turning up at the incorrect time and or venue.

Redlands Pulse Sport Page

Again another reminder to take the time to review the information on this page. I appreciate Term 1 is very busy given the number of events taking place but the information on this page will be helpful. The Junior School Sport pages on Redlands Pulse will continue to be the ‘source of truth’ for all information relating to sport this term. I am asking that if parents have an enquiry relating to sport that your first port of call will be the Junior School Sport section of Redlands Pulse.
