Ballet and Dance

Photographs – Tuesday 8 March

We are very excited to have photographer Vicki Skarratt join us at the Ballet and Dance Academy on Tuesday 8 March.

During the afternoon Vicki will be popping into all our Ballet classes so, in preparation for our big photo shoot, we would like all our students to practice their ballet buns. See below for some simple instructions and an example of a neat, flat ballet bun.

It is very important for dancers to start their class neat and tidy so that they can focus on their learning and make the most of every moment they are in the studio. Also, pirouettes are a lot easier when hair is not falling out or getting in their eyes when they are trying to spot.

Students in Year 1 and above should come to class with their Ballet uniform**, clean tights and neat hair, and remember to bring their ballet shoes. If they do not have a uniform leotard please let us know so that we can source one for them to borrow.

Please also pack a hair brush, hair band, hair net, hair clips and hair grips.  Academy staff will help students with their hair if required.

** Please see our Uniform page on Redlands Pulse for details on the leotard colours for Ballet Grades.

Our Redlands House, Transition and Kindergarten students can wear their normal Ballet clothes.

Les Artistes de Paris

Despite the wet weather the Ballet and Dance Academy students have been cheery and continue to work hard. It is full steam ahead for all our Performance groups who are learning new choreography in preparation for Eisteddfods.

Below are some of our Junior Ballet Performers practising their routine this week.
