Community Update

Community Update

There was sheer delight on the faces of our students, staff and parents this week, visible even through masks, as our youngest students and Year 12 returned to campus.  It was lovely to see and feel the different energy they bring to our School. Our Year 12s are deep into their exam preparation and demonstrated a measured and dedicated focus while our younger students bound with excitement and enthusiasm back into their classrooms.

It was a pleasure to join a number of community webinars and also speak with a number of parents this week about the return to On-Campus-Learning. My sincere thanks to our community for the constructive feedback we continue to receive.  I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the diverse range of topics discussed from head (the wearing of masks) to toe (school shoes) this week. All of the topics examined are included within the updated return to On-Campus Learning information that can be found on the COVID-19 Page of Redlands Pulse.

A reminder that parents and carers who are interested in shaping the future of the School are invited and encouraged to attend the Redlands Parents and Friends Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) via Zoom on at 6.30pm on Thursday 28 October. This is a great opportunity for new parents to hear how our Association works within, and for, our valued community. Please RSVP for the AGM here.  If you are  interested in a position within the RPFA then please have a look at this document that details the various roles and responsibilities.

Each year the graduating class at Redlands celebrate and acknowledge their Redlands education with a Legacy Gift. The Legacy Gift provides the cohort with a unique opportunity to thank the School for its support, encouragement and the opportunities offered while studying at Redlands.  We were thrilled to see the incredible achievement of our 2021 Year 12 Legacy Gift team featured in last weekend’s Sydney Morning Herald. To read about this incredible and noble gift, along with another inspiring postcard from our Alumni check out the Foundation section.

Redlands is a school in the Anglican tradition that seeks to give students the opportunity to understand the Christian faith in a relevant and accessible way. The Redlands Parents’ Prayer Group provides our current parent community with the opportunity to come together in prayer. The Group is meeting next on Thursday, 4 November from 8pm to 9pm via Zoom.  Please contact Sally Swan (Mum to Annabelle Yr 12  and Adelaide Yr 7) at swanlsally@gmail.com for further information and the Zoom link.

I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
