Learning Music from Home
We can happily say we’ve now found our ‘groove’ with Remote Learning in the Music Department, and our offerings will now continue in the same pattern for the remainder of August!
Zoom remains such a valuable tool for staying connected as a community and as ensemble members, and we acknowledge its purpose this end. In reflecting the community feedback regarding Zoom ensemble rehearsals however, we confirm that the default for our weekly rehearsal provisions at this time will continue to be through the upload of resources and video activities to the respective learning platforms (Seesaw, Google Classroom and iLearn). Conductors will continue to communicate directly with ensembles should they wish to schedule a Zoom session in support of the resource upload. Weekly resources continue to be available from each session’s regular start time, and we encourage our students to continue in this timetable and rhythm where possible to set us up for a smooth return to campus when that day arrives.

Online Auditions & Competitions
A reminder that the new Music Department Auditions page on iLearn sees two events currently open and accepting student submissions! Auditions for the Redlands Senior Instrumental Competition (via video upload) close tomorrow – Friday 30 July 2021, while the Redlands Composition Competition (entry via score & audio upload) is closing on Friday 13 August 2021.
We’ve loved hearing of many students’ inspiration towards composition while in lockdown. Entry Forms for both these competitions are currently available for download from Pulse and iLearn.
