Gala Arts Audition Meeting

Notes from the Gala Arts Pre Audition meeting are available on the Gala Arts iLearn page. This year, auditions will be via video upload to the Gala Arts page on iLearn. To be added to the iLearn page students should email drama@redlands.nsw.edu.au. The audition form and video audition should then be uploaded to the various categories on iLearn by next Monday 10 May. Applications and auditions will close promptly at 3.20pm. Students need to complete the Gala audition form available on iLearn or here. Gala Arts will be held at The Concourse in Chatswood on Friday 23 July at 6.30pm. 

Musical 2021

The detailed process of editing of our Musical footage is continuing and Act One is looking and sounding amazing, showcasing the fine talents of our cast, band and crews. Once the final edits are complete three consecutive dates will be announced and tickets will be available for viewing Redlands production of Grease the Musical the Movie. Special behind the scenes footage is also being included with wonderful interviews with our students and some of our journey from rehearsal to the screen. 

Yr 9 Headlines

This week, Yr 9 Drama students presented their examination pieces to parents in Headlines an evening of Docudrama pieces. These pieces were devised by the students, exploring some of the controversial and unusual news stories of recent times. It was lovely to welcome our parents and friends back to our Drama Studio.  

Yr 10 Drama Theatre of the Absurd

Yr 10 students will be performing in a collection of dramatic and comedic scenes from Theatre of the Absurd in Connections 2021 on Monday and Tuesday 17 and 18 May at 6.30pm in the Drama Studio. Spaces are limited and seats can be booked through Trybooking on the iLearn course page. 

Theatresports Regional Competition

Our Senior Theatresports students represented Redlands at the Theatresports Schools Challenge heat last night at Wenona. They were an amazing team and were placed equal 2nd in the competition with Loretto Kirribilli, with St Aloysius College winning the heat . All three teams now move on to the Semi Finals. Congratulations to Kyle Banfield, Emma Canton, Bethany Richardson and Callum Wardman-Browne for their excellent representation of Redlands. Drama staff Sarah Sparke and Amber Virtue supported and trained our terrific team and their effort, time and talent are gratefully appreciated. 

Our Intermediate Team will compete at Lindfield Learning College on Wednesday 12 May (Week 4) at 7.00pm. We wish Angus Baker, Remi Gibbs, Anoushka Lee, Serafina Scotting and Abbie Sewell all the best as they prepare for the competition. Tickets are $5.00 for students and $10.00 for adults and can be purchased at the door.

Regional Shakespeare Carnival 

Our Yr 11 students compete Katina Casimaty, Louise Colin, Bella Kendrigan and Sara Vancalkova next week in the Regional Shakespeare Festival on Thursday 13 May at Jamison High School. We wish them all the best as they bring their very physical adaptation of Midsummer Night’s Dream to the stage. 

Year 12 Solo Showcase “To thine own self be true”

Year 12 HSC students will be presenting their individual works in performance and design for their final examination at 6pm on Monday 7 June in the Adams Centre. Please join them as they step on to the stage for their solo showcase of major works. Spaces are limited and seats can be booked through Trybooking and on the iLearn course page.
